Edith is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of the Women’s Venture Capital Fund. She has primary responsibility for fundraising, deal sourcing, due diligence and investor relations. 

Edith is a highly skilled strategist and new business developer with a unique background as a management consultant, investment banker and senior executive. She has achieved outstanding results as a consultant and advisor to diverse organizations from large, public companies to privately held businesses and startups across a wide array of sectors including digital and print media, health, education, telecom, financial services, agribusiness and consumer products working on competitive strategies, new market opportunities, fundraising, valuations, sale of businesses and formation of strategic partnerships.

Edith led business development for the Children’s Television Workshop where she helped spearhead the revitalization of the 25-year-old Sesame Street brand and launch the joint venture with Nickelodeon for the first 24-hour educational channel, “Noggin”. At Physicians’ Online, one of the early online services, Edith identified and negotiated strategic alliances and joint ventures to generate new sources of domestic and international revenue.

Earlier, Edith worked as an investment banker for Salomon Brothers where she focused on sell side M+A and equities – divestiture programs of large corporations, negotiated sales of privately held and publicly traded companies, initial public offerings and other public equity transactions. Edith began her career with McKinsey & Company where she advised Fortune 500 companies on market trends, competitive strategies and organizational effectiveness.

Long active in community service, Edith worked in a Save the Children startup refugee relief camp in The Sudan, developed a mentorship program for teen immigrants from the Former Soviet Union and until recently was President of the Board of Directors for Portland’s JCC and Portland’s Jewish Academy. She also serves on the Board of Advisors of the state chapter of Stand for Children, and previously served as board member of the Educational Alliance in New York City.

She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and MPA from the Kennedy School of Government. Edith graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics from the Wharton School and a BA in Political Science. She is a graduate of the Bronx High School of Science.
